Since its beginnings, the Festival has presented many acclaimed films, including Crash, Layer Cake, Dust to Glory, Sexy Beast, Spellbound, Dogtown and Z Boys, Joint Security Area, and Castle in the Sky, as well as anniversary screenings of classics such as The French Connection, Sunset Boulevard, 50th anniversary of Jim Henson Company and The Outsiders. As a result, the Newport Beach Film Festival has quickly gained recognition both from filmmakers and audiences, and is expected to attract more than 30,000 cinephiles in 2006.
